From playing the city’s most prestigious nightclubs to festivals in front of an audience of thousands, Boston native DJ Tao has entrenched himself as one of Boston’s most highly regarded and sought after DJ’s. DJ Tao currently holds residencies all across boston at Royale, Bijou, Zuma, Down, Waterclub, and the Boat Cruise Summer Series, among others. He’s also no stranger to playing across the country, having performed in Rhode Island, Connecticutt, New York, Florida, Scottsdale in Arizona, and Charlotte in North Carolina.

In his 8 year career, DJ Tao has opened for some of the world’s biggest commercial acts, including Diplo, The Chainsmokers, Snakehips, Gryffin, Knife Party, Zedd, and more, but has also made time for his true passion of house music, playing alongside legends such as Green Velvet, Claptone, Claude Vonstroke, Lane 8, Lee Foss, MK, Justin Martin, Destructo, Laidback Luke and more. Few DJ’s have mastered as many genres as DJ Tao, who can flawlessly transition between hip hop, house music, classics, and everything in between to create one epic party.

In April 2014, he made his debut on FM radio, WERX Evolution 101.7‘s Evolution Underground. In August 2016, he made his debut on Sirius XM’s Electric Area as a guest on PeakHour Radio. His mashups and edits have been featured on DJCity, as well as various EDM blogs.

Also the owner-operator of Flavor Media, he has grown what was once a small college party promoter into a productions and media powerhouse known across the East Coast. He also founded the popular Boston-based EDM blog Sonic Agenda. As a result, his loyal fanbase follows him nearly wherever he goes.

Timeline

2009 - Started DJ'ing

While a junior at Brandeis University, purchased first piece of DJ equipment and began learning how to DJ.

2009 - First Private DJ Appearance

Brandeis Sigma Delta Tau Formal. Would later go on to become a fixture on the Brandeis Greek party circuit, DJ’ing for Alpha Epsilon Pi, Zeta Beta Tau, Phi Kappa Psi, as well as nearly every Brandeis campus event.

2010 - First Non-Brandeis Event

Branching out of Brandeis, DJ Tao DJ’ed the Wellesley Tau Zeta Epsilon society formal in 2010, who invited him back for many years after before he finally retired from the college scene in 2013.

2010 - First DJ Residency at a Bar

DJ Tao’s first bar residency was at The Joshua Tree in Allston, which has since closed in 2014. It was a hotspot for Boston University and Boston College students.

2010 - DJ'ed First Festival

2010 Brandeis Springfest marked the first of many festivals DJ Tao would later play. The event also featured Passion Pit, Chiddy Bang, and Streetlight Manifesto.

2011 - Played First Boston Nightclub

The 600 capacity Estate Nightclub closed its doors in 2015.

2014 - Plays at the Famed Cielo NYC

In April 2014, DJ Tao made his NYC debut at Cielo, the world’s #82 ranked nightclub according to DJ Mag.

2014 - Makes WEDX Evolution 101.7 Debut

In April 2014, he made his debut on FM radio, WERX Evolution 101.7‘s Evolution Underground.

2016 - Played in Scottsdale, AZ

In April 2016, DJ Tao made his Arizona debut at the El Hefe, The Wasted Grain, and The Montauk in downtown Scottsdale.

2016 - Makes SiriusXM Debut

In August 2016, he made his debut on Sirius XM’s Electric Area as a guest on DJ Exodus’ PeakHour Radio.

2017 - Played Minus Zero Festival

Vermont’s Minus Zero Festival drew over 6000 attendees over two days. DJ Tao played a three hour set on Day One, sharing a stage with Claptone, Thugfucker, DJ Three, and Behrouz, as well as the official afterparty in the ski lodge.

2017 - Named Resident DJ at Waterclub

Waterclub is one of New England’s most popular outdoor summer venues.

2017 - Played Final Show at Ascend / Prime

In April 2017, DJ Tao played his final set at Ascend, a trap / dubstep show with Crizzly. Ascend closed its doors for good a month later.

2018 - Played Minus Zero Festival

In April 2018, DJ Tao was selected to play on the Minus Zero Festival lineup for the second time.

2018 - Headlining DJ of Boston Taco Festival

In May 2018, made debut at Boston’s iconic City Hall Plaza, playing the Boston Taco Festival in front of his largest audience yet – 5000 people.

2018 - Headlined Boston Boat Cruise Summer Series

In July 2018, headlined Boston’s Boat Cruise Summer Series alongside DudeNGuy, another local favorite.
